Los Cabos on Points: 7 Best Hotels to Book With Hyatt, Marriott, and Wyndham in 2026

Sarah ColeApril 8, 20268 min read

Los Cabos broke tourism records in January 2026 with more international visitors than any January on file. Cash rates at the top resorts run $500 to $1,100+ per night — but points travelers have it better here than almost anywhere in Mexico. The reason: Hyatt has seven properties in Los Cabos spanning every price point, from a 5,000-point budget hotel to a Park Hyatt at 40,000 points. All transfer from Chase Ultimate Rewards at 1:1.

But not every points redemption in Cabo is equal. The Waldorf Astoria Pedregal charges up to 772,000 Hilton points for a room that averages 0.43¢ per point — one of the worst luxury redemptions in Mexico. Know where the value is before you transfer.

Here are the 7 best Los Cabos hotels to book with points in 2026, ranked by cents-per-point value. All programs use dynamic award pricing. Rates below are based on publicly available pricing from official hotel websites across a 90-day booking window.

1. Park Hyatt Cabo Del Sol — World of Hyatt (Best Luxury Redemption)

Program: World of Hyatt Points: 40,000–66,000/night (dynamic) | Cash: $750–$1,131/night Best CPP: 2.41¢ | Avg CPP: 1.63¢

The newest and most anticipated hotel in Los Cabos. The Park Hyatt Cabo Del Sol opened with wide-open award availability through summer 2026, and the CPP reflects real luxury value. At 40,000 points against $750+ cash rates, you are getting 1.88¢ per point on the low end. On the right dates — when cash spikes above $1,000 while points hold at 40,000–50,000 — CPP jumps to 2.41¢.

The resort sits on the Cabo Del Sol corridor between Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo with ocean views, a world-class spa, and the refined service Park Hyatt is known for. This is the kind of property that justifies hoarding Chase Ultimate Rewards all year.

Transfer Path

Chase UR to Hyatt at 1:1 (instant). Bilt also transfers to Hyatt at 1:1. A 5-night stay at 40,000/night = 160,000 Hyatt points for $3,750+ in value.

Best for: Luxury travelers who want top-tier service at 1.63–2.41¢ per point. The best new Hyatt redemption in Mexico.

2. The Cape, A Thompson Hotel — World of Hyatt (Best Boutique)

Program: World of Hyatt Points: 30,000–70,000/night (dynamic) | Cash: $448–$973/night Best CPP: 2.78¢ | Avg CPP: 1.76¢

The Cape is the coolest hotel in Cabo. A Thompson Hotel perched on the rocks overlooking Monuments Beach and the famous Arch of Cabo San Lucas, it has a 1960s California-meets-Mexico design, a rooftop pool with one of the best sunset views in Baja, and Manta — an acclaimed restaurant by Enrique Olvera.

The dynamic pricing range is wide (30,000–70,000 points), but even at the average of 37,000 points against $629 cash, you are getting 1.76¢ — strong for a boutique luxury hotel. On the best dates, 30,000 points against $800+ delivers 2.78¢ per point.

Transfer Path

Chase UR to Hyatt at 1:1 (instant). The Cape is a Category 6–7 property, making it accessible even to travelers with moderate points balances.

Best for: Couples and design-conscious travelers. The rooftop pool, Arch views, and Manta restaurant make this the most Instagram-worthy points hotel in Los Cabos.

3. Hyatt Place Los Cabos — World of Hyatt (Best Budget)

Program: World of Hyatt Points: 5,000–6,500/night (dynamic) | Cash: $109–$175/night Best CPP: 2.93¢ | Avg CPP: 1.98¢

The sleeper pick. At just 5,000–6,500 Hyatt points per night, this is one of the cheapest meaningful points redemptions anywhere. Cash rates of $109–$175 mean you are consistently getting 1.98¢ per point on average, with best dates reaching 2.93¢. For perspective: that is better average CPP than the Park Hyatt.

The Hyatt Place is not a beachfront resort — it is a modern, comfortable hotel closer to town in San José del Cabo. Clean rooms, free breakfast, outdoor pool. The value play is using your points budget here for your Cabo base camp and spending the cash savings on activities, dining, and day-trip boat excursions.

Transfer Path

Chase UR to Hyatt at 1:1. A 5-night stay costs just 20,000–32,500 Hyatt points total — that is one Chase Sapphire Preferred signup bonus covering nearly 3 full Los Cabos trips.

Best for: Budget travelers and points beginners. Maximize nights in Cabo with minimal points. Pair with day trips to beach clubs and the Arch.

4. Breathless Cabo San Lucas — World of Hyatt (Best Adults-Only All-Inclusive)

Program: World of Hyatt Points: 30,000–70,000/night (dynamic) | Cash: $512–$1,189/night Best CPP: 1.91¢ | Avg CPP: 1.62¢

Breathless is an adults-only all-inclusive in the AMR Collection (bookable through Hyatt). Points cover everything — room, meals, drinks, and entertainment. At 30,000–70,000 points against $512–$1,189 in cash (which includes all food and beverages), 1.62¢ average CPP is strong given the all-inclusive premium baked into the cash rate.

The resort sits on Médano Beach, the only swimmable beach in downtown Cabo San Lucas, with an energetic party pool, themed nights, and multiple restaurants. Think upscale spring-break-for-adults energy.

Transfer Path

Chase UR to Hyatt at 1:1. Points cover all-inclusive rate for 2 guests — no separate food or drink bills. The effective value is even higher than the CPP suggests since you are saving on meals.

Best for: Couples and friend groups who want an all-inclusive party scene. Médano Beach location puts you steps from downtown Cabo nightlife.

5. Grand Decameron Los Cabos — Wyndham Rewards (Best All-Inclusive Value)

Program: Wyndham Rewards Points: 15,000/night (flat) | Cash: $177–$232/night Best CPP: 1.54¢ | Avg CPP: 1.36¢

The surprise value pick. Wyndham is not the first program that comes to mind for Los Cabos, but the Grand Decameron delivers a flat 15,000 points per night for an all-inclusive experience. No dynamic pricing games — 15,000 points regardless of date. Cash rates of $177–$232 for all-inclusive make this the cheapest all-inclusive in Los Cabos by a wide margin, and 1.36¢ average CPP is solid for Wyndham.

The resort is more laid-back than the Hyatt all-inclusive options — a beachfront property with pools, buffet dining, and a relaxed vibe. Not luxury, but genuinely good value for a points all-inclusive.

Transfer Path

Chase UR, Citi ThankYou, Capital One, or Bilt all transfer to Wyndham at 1:1. This is one of the most accessible all-inclusive redemptions since it works with four different transferable currencies.

Best for: Budget-conscious travelers who want all-inclusive without burning 30,000+ points per night. Perfect for longer stays.

6. JW Marriott Los Cabos — Marriott Bonvoy (Best for Marriott Loyalists)

Program: Marriott Bonvoy Points: 77,500–116,500/night (dynamic) | Cash: $510–$1,548/night Best CPP: 1.33¢ | Avg CPP: 0.98¢ 5th Night Free: Yes

The JW Marriott is the best Marriott redemption in Los Cabos, though the CPP tells a story: averaging just under 1.0¢, it is solid but not spectacular. Where it shines is on high-cash dates — when the cash rate hits $1,548 against ~116,500 points, you get 1.33¢. The 5th night free benefit brings effective cost down further on longer stays.

The resort itself is excellent: beachfront on the San José del Cabo corridor, infinity pools overlooking the Sea of Cortez, a full-service spa, and multiple dining options. Marriott Platinum and above get breakfast and lounge access.

The 5th Night Free Calculation

5-night stay at 77,500/night: pay 310,000 Bonvoy points (4 nights) for ~$4,280 in value at average cash. Effective CPP: ~1.38¢.

Transfer Path

Amex MR to Marriott at 1:1 (currently with 25% bonus). Chase UR and Bilt also transfer at 1:1. The Amex bonus makes this a 0.98¢ to ~1.38¢ effective CPP.

Best for: Marriott loyalists and Amex cardholders. The 5th night free and Amex transfer bonus push the value above the baseline CPP.

7. Secrets Puerto Los Cabos — World of Hyatt (Best Adults-Only Quiet Escape)

Program: World of Hyatt Points: 30,000–35,000/night (dynamic) | Cash: $366–$737/night Best CPP: 2.11¢ | Avg CPP: 1.29¢

Secrets is the quieter, more upscale alternative to Breathless. This adults-only all-inclusive sits on the San José del Cabo side — less party, more spa-and-sunset vibes. Points cover the full all-inclusive rate, and the narrow 30,000–35,000-point range means less dynamic pricing surprise than Breathless.

On the best dates, 30,000 points against $630+ cash delivers 2.11¢ — excellent for an all-inclusive. The average of 1.29¢ is still respectable when you factor in the included meals and drinks.

Best for: Couples seeking a relaxed, upscale all-inclusive experience. The San José location is quieter and more authentic than the Cabo San Lucas strip.

The Los Cabos Points Trap: Waldorf Astoria Pedregal

The Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal is one of Mexico's most iconic luxury hotels — a clifftop property accessed via a private tunnel through a mountain, with rooms starting above $900/night and suites north of $2,000.

The problem: Hilton's dynamic pricing is brutal here. Points range from 250,000 to 772,000 per night. The average CPP is just 0.43¢ — meaning you would get less than half a cent of value per Hilton point. Even on the absolute best date, CPP reaches only 0.85¢. By comparison, the Park Hyatt next door delivers 1.63¢ average and 2.41¢ best.

Hilton Honors points are generally worth 0.5–0.6¢ at good properties. At 0.43¢ average, the Waldorf Astoria Pedregal is destroying value, not creating it. Pay cash if you want the Pedregal experience. Use your points at the Hyatt properties.

Transfer Strategy

Chase Ultimate Rewards is the king of Los Cabos points travel. It transfers to:

  • World of Hyatt at 1:1 (instant) — covers 7 properties from 5,000 to 70,000 points
  • Wyndham Rewards at 1:1 (instant) — the 15,000-point Grand Decameron all-inclusive
  • Marriott Bonvoy at 1:1 — JW Marriott with 5th night free
One Chase currency covers every top redemption in Los Cabos. No other transferable points program comes close to this flexibility here.

Other paths:

  • Amex MR to Marriott at 1:1 (+25% bonus) — makes JW Marriott more competitive
  • Citi ThankYou / Capital One to Wyndham at 1:1 — another route to the Grand Decameron
  • Bilt to Hyatt, Marriott, or Wyndham at 1:1 — rent-payers have full access to the Los Cabos playbook

When to Visit Los Cabos

  • Peak season (December–March): Dry, sunny, 80 degrees days. Whale watching season (humpbacks in the Sea of Cortez). Highest cash rates — which means the best CPP on points redemptions. Book 4–6 months ahead.
  • Shoulder season (April–May, October–November): Still warm and dry. Fewer crowds, slightly lower cash rates. Great balance of weather and value.
  • Summer (June–September): Hot and humid with occasional rain. Hurricane season peaks August–September. Cash rates drop, which can reduce CPP — but the Hyatt Place at 5,000 points is always a great deal.

Bottom Line

Los Cabos is Hyatt country. Seven Hyatt properties spanning from 5,000 to 70,000 points per night give you a redemption at every price point — budget hotel, boutique luxury, ultra-luxury resort, and all-inclusive. All transfer from Chase UR at 1:1.

The best overall value is the Hyatt Place at 5,000–6,500 points (avg 1.98 CPP). The best luxury redemption is the Park Hyatt Cabo Del Sol at 40,000–66,000 points (avg 1.63). For all-inclusive, the Breathless at 30,000–70,000 points (avg 1.62) and the budget-friendly Grand Decameron via Wyndham at a flat 15,000 points (avg 1.36) both deliver.

Avoid the Waldorf Astoria Pedregal on points — 250,000–772,000 Hilton points for 0.43 average CPP is one of the worst luxury redemptions in Mexico.

The play: Transfer Chase UR to Hyatt and pick the property that fits your style. A 5-night Hyatt Place stay costs just 20,000–32,500 points. A 5-night Park Hyatt stay costs 160,000–264,000 points for $3,750–$5,655 in value. Both are excellent uses of transferable points.
